Organosilicon hydrophobic agent is a special chemical substance that contains organosilicon groups and hydrophilic groups in its molecular structure. These groups induce a unique chemical reaction on the surface, forming a wax-like coating that alters the surface's hydrophilicity, thereby imparting strong hydrophobic properties to the surface.

Working Principle
The mechanism of organosilicon hydrophobic agents on surfaces involves surfactants that adsorb onto the surface to form a layer with hydrophilic groups, thereby providing some degree of hydrophilicity. Simultaneously, the organosilicon groups chemically react with the surface to form a wax-like coating, which alters the surface's hydrophilicity and imparts strong hydrophobic properties. Organosilicon hydrophobic agents are mainly used to improve the performance of material surfaces. In building materials, Wacker Chemicals' organosilicon hydrophobic agents can enhance the waterproof properties of concrete and masonry surfaces; in automotive components, they can improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of car surfaces; in textiles, they can increase the waterproof and wear-resistant properties of fabrics, among other applications.
Product Advantages
High activity, good dispersibility, free flow, white powder
Provide overall waterproofness of the material, no film formation on the surface of the substrate
Good fluidity and dispersibility in dry powder
Easy to disperse in water, does not affect the wetting, stirring, and working performance of the dry powder
Has the ability to inhibit the alkali efflux of the substrate and enhance the anti-freeze and thaw performance of the substrate, which is beneficial to the substrate in maintaining its beauty and color
High weather resistance, and UV resistance, provide long-term hydrophobic protection for the substrate and do not weaken the strength of the substrate
How to Use
Silicone water repellent is in dry powder state and can be mixed with other dry powder materials in mixing equipment to produce various dry mortar products.
Avoid long-term stirring under high shear force to prevent the temperature of the powder from rising. Usually, in a container filled with water, slowly add the dry mortar product containing water repellent while stirring, but avoid too strong stirring to prevent the introduction of air. In the state of pre-mixing with water, water can be added to dilute it before use. The newly mixed material needs to be left to stand for 1 to 5 minutes before use, depending on the situation of other additives.
The amount of silicone added is generally 0.2%-1.5% of the dry powder amount (dry powder), depending on the waterproof requirements of the substrate. It is recommended to determine the applicable amount after laboratory testing before use.
